One of the professors is retiring and has been placing boxes of books in the hall for anyone that wants them. First I picked up a book called Emotional Quotient. I haven’t read it yet but here is a link to an article from Psychologytoday.com that gives a list of tips on how to enhance your emotional quotient.

http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/your-mind-your-body/201201/10-ways-enhance-your-emotional-intelligence.

The next two are called Beyond Feelings- A Guide to Critical Thinking and Critical Thinking-A Campus Life Casebook. This is one subject I would rather read about leisurely than pay to take an actual class on. It could be a difficult, maybe even boring subject but I will enjoy it at my own pace and by my own choice.

I found a book called Human Memory by a university professor from Notre Dame. Memory is a complex concept as well as anything having to do with the brain. Here is a link about memory myths.

http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-new-brain/201111/the-top-four-false-beliefs-about-memory

Yesterday I picked up a book called Using HTML 4.0. I know what you are thinking when you read this: it is old and outdated, but it does help to understand how to build a webpage which is one of my goals this summer while I am out of school. This book also tells about different types of file designations and how to insert media into a webpage. This is a free book! I have read two chapters in that one. According to this article on webmonkey.com HTML 5 won’t be ready for a long time. So my version 4.0 is not so old after all.

http://www.webmonkey.com/2008/09/html_5_won_t_be_ready_until_2022dot_yes__2022dot/

Today I found a book called The Bedford Guide For College Writers. Sounds like something I could use to help me write an e-book. That is an undertaking I am contemplating and a writing handbook could make the difference in being published or not and how many copies are downloaded. It is good experience to sharpen writing skills.

I hope you have enjoyed sharing my book bargains. Getting something free is even better when you actually want the item. Until the boxes disappear from the hallway I will keep checking for more books to add to my collection.
