<p>A DC cyclist <a href="http://www.spectator.org/blogger.asp?BlogID=13487">killed by a garbage truck</a> has sparked the perennial car vs. bike debate. I agree with J.P. Friere. Car-drivers in DC simply treat cyclists as if they have no right to be on the road. I was run down by a car as I was slowly riding my bike across a pedestrian crossing on Florida Avenue once. Tyler Cowen <a href="http://www.marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2008/07/should-the-driv.html">argues</a> in favor of cars. Megan <a href="http://meganmcardle.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/07/drivers_or_bikers_who_sucks_mo.php">takes the side</a> of bicyclists. I&#8217;ve <a href="http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2007/04/bike_power.html">written</a> about biking in DC before.</p>
