<p>Drum <a href="http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2008/12/chart_of_the_day_12172008.html">gloats</a> about Southern California being among the safest places in the country. He then concludes: &quot;On the other hand, we&#8217;re still waiting for the Big One out here. This map could change color at any time.&quot; And the chart does not account for that slow, psychological death from the weather, otherwise known as England and Oregon.</p>
