The Cardinal still is not responding to the revelations of his authorization of pay-offs to clerical child molesters. Surely, if the accusation was, as he put it, "false, preposterous and unjust," a public and emphatic denial would be swiftly forthcoming. And yet, for some reason, it isn't. I guess Thou Shalt Not Commit False Witness is now up there with Thou Shalt Not Rape Children.
