Baggett reported to the Federal Correction Complex at Forrest City, said a spokesman for the federal Bureau of Prisons.

He was convicted in December on two federal weapons charges and a third charge of making false statements to federal agents in a trial with reputed mobster George Wylie Thompson, who prosecutors say has connections to the Colombo crime family.

Thompson also was convicted of federal charges and is housed at the federal prison in Fort Worth, Texas.

Baggett is the second former North Little Rock alderman serving prison time on a conviction
