Spanish police and health authorities claim to have dismantled a trafficking ring that bought and sold medicine illegally.
The organisation is said to have stocked pharmaceutical drugs in bulk and sold them on at knockdown prices to other European countries including the UK, Belgium, Holland and Denmark – to avoid paying tax.
Police began Operation Caduceo after receiving a call from a pharmacy in Navarra warning about a big order of medicines. Products were carried to the Valencia region and kept in three stores before being distributed.
