How I miss you during the week.

I bask in thy pleasurable silence,

Letting the peacefulness seep into my bones.

But just as the winter days are short,

So is my time alone.

No sooner do I begin to enjoy you,

That the first screech is emitted from the bowels of the house.

And as the dogs bark in accompaniment to the cacophony of “STOP IT!!”

I rejoice once more in having had a bit of this day to enjoy.
