ROTC returned from their Lex trip, Little One was still enjoying a sleepover in the afternoon, and Eldest wanted to practice driving. Short story: I didn&#8217;t get to enjoy a visit to a winery as planned. But no matter, because I did have time to make a turkey roast which was delish. And that&#8217;s what inspired the question:</p>
<p>Why do we wait to have turkey on Thanksgiving and Christmas??</p>
<p><a href="https://aggiesprite.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/turkey-roast.png"><img data-attachment-id="2558" data-permalink="https://aggiesprite.wordpress.com/2012/10/22/question-to-ponder/turkey-roast/" data-orig-file="https://aggiesprite.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/turkey-roast.png" data-orig-size="473,475" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;}" data-image-title="turkey roast" data-image-description="" data-medium-file="https://aggiesprite.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/turkey-roast.png?w=300" data-large-file="https://aggiesprite.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/turkey-roast.png?w=473" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-2558" title="turkey roast" alt="" src="https://aggiesprite.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/turkey-roast.png?w=473&#038;h=475" height="475" width="473" srcset="https://aggiesprite.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/turkey-roast.png 473w, https://aggiesprite.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/turkey-roast.png?w=150&amp;h=150 150w, https://aggiesprite.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/turkey-roast.png?w=300&amp;h=300 300w" sizes="(max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px" /></a></p>
<p>Now, obviously I didn&#8217;t do a whole turkey. That&#8217;s just ridiculous. But doing a boneless roast is not hard, and takes only a couple of hours in the oven, which is pretty much what meatloaf or a pot roast take to bake. From now on I think I will make a turkey at at least once a month.</p>
<p>Variety being the spice of Life and all, along with rosemary!</p>
