I moved 13000 miles away.

Sleeping

Writing a blog post and eating brownies.

Used to be, 15 years ago.

It is different in Yugoslavia, but our party was fun.
7. Do you have any famous relatives?
My grandfather designed and built the first skyscraper in the Balkans, as well as several other buildings now protected as cultural monuments. His wife – my grandmother – was studying in Prague at the same time and in the same dpertament with Max Brod and Franz Kafka.
8. Have you ever taken out a loan to pay for school?
I owe millions by now.
9. Do you know the words to your MySpace song?
I am not sure, but I don’t think I have it – my profile is super-bare.
10. Last thing u received in the mail?
Bills, of course. But yesterday I got a book: “Special Topics in Calamity Physics”
11. How many different beverages have you drank today?
Classic Coke, green tea with tangerine
13. Who did you lose your concert virginity to?
I am not going to count various small local groups in Belgrade, and I do not remember exactly which one of these two was first (both were within a couple of nmonths of each other), but both are my earliest Big Concerts: Dire Straits and Joan Baez.
14. Do you draw your name in the sand when you go to the beach?
No
15. What’s the most painful dental procedure you’ve had?
A root canal. The pain from wisdom teeth extraction started only after the surgery was over and I woke up.

Yup, in a couple of places (Belgrade, Chapel Hill, etc.)

Biology and blogging.
23. What is your favorite flavor of JELLO?
I hate jello. As for the JELL-O brand of pudding – chocolate.
24. Are any of your great-grandparents still alive?
No. Not even grandparents.
25. Describe your keychain?
Large carabiner, large car-key and a bunch of grocery-store cards. The other keys are on a separate chain with the “Bodies” exhibit and a universal tool (screwdrivers, pliers, etc.).
26. Where do you keep your change?
Jeans pockets: pennies in the left front pocket, the rest in the right front pocket.
27. When was the last time you spoke in front of a large group?
My classes and labs are small, so it’s been a couple of years since I spoke to a larger group – a guest lecture in a huge Intro Anat&Physio class, and leading a session at ConvergeSouth blogging conference.
28. What kind of winter coat do you have?
Navy-blue down jacket I bought for my New Years trip to Chicago in 2000.
