It is complementary to the SCAR <a style="color:#0066cc;text-decoration:none;" href="http://www.antarctica.ac.uk/met/READER/">READER</a> database that contains mean climate data for the Antarctic research stations.</span></div>
<div style="color:#222222;text-align:justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:inherit;">The site contains fields describing the atmosphere, ocean, cryosphere and terrestrial environment. Annual, seasonal and monthly mean data are presented.</span></div>
<div style="color:#222222;text-align:justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:inherit;">The broad outline of the project was agreed at the SCAR Cross-SSG workshop held in Modena, Italy in February 2009. This initial test version of the data base is made available for discuss at the SCAR meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina in July/August 2010. Comments on the site and how the initiative should develop should be sent to Prof. John Turner (<a style="color:#0066cc;text-decoration:none;" href="mailto:jtu@bas.ac.uk">jtu@bas.ac.uk</a>).</span><br />
