Periodically, it is the duty of the member nations to submit National Reports when important events occur in the member states. The National Report of the Dominion, submitted by the Basileus of the Dominion, HSM Justinian I, on the 22 December to the GUM subforum on the Micronation.org Forums (the premier Micronational wiki-based community) revealed a very important event to occur in the near future; the complete reform, rename and restructure of Burnham.

The complete National Report is shown below:

FUTURE OF THE NATION – THEODORIST REGIONAL DOMINION OF BURNHAM AND ITS LAND
Following the taking of emergency absolute power by Justinian I, Basileus of the Dominion, earlier in the month, talks have begun with certain other Micronationalists to merge with Burnham and form a Diarchy with near-absolute rule, a Unicameral Legislature, and a left-wing economy. Burnham would then rename and change it’s flags, and the Head of the Legislature would from that point on represent the country in the GUM Quorum.
As the new nation would be the result of other countries merging with Burnham, and not Burnham merging with other countries, the legal status of the nation as a GUM member would remain unchanged.

After the Basileus took power by emergency in Burnham on 7 December, Burnham’s future was called into question both abroad and within the Wuertige Empire. This unveiling of a new nation indicates the continuity of Burnham’s historical legacy, that began with the St Peters Republic on 20 September 2011.

The Noble Republic of Lurk and the Eternal Empire of New Winterdown are expected to be merging with Burnham, but when asked if he would be assuming the position of leader within the up and coming nation, the Basileus declared that he would not be a political figurehead.

“While I will still be an assistance to the political legislature of the nation,” His Socialist Majesty said, “I feel that I do not have the experience or mindset for running that legislature at the moment. My place in the nation will still be a position of primary authority as one of the new Diarchs, but my place will be one of spiritual, not administrative, guidance.”

This spiritual leadership is predicted to have been an indirect of the Basileus’ conversion to Christianity in the mid-Autumn of this year, although this will not infringe on the religious freedoms of others, so the Basileus promises. The Diarchs are to be assisted by a Unicameral Legislature, led by a Head of the Legislature who will be a crucial third point in the national leadership. Although it is at this point unknown as to the new nation’s political intentions, it can be assumed that for the immediate future it will remain as a Wuertige Autonomous Member State, much as Burnham has done.

In other news, the Wuertige Empire has been threatened with a reduction in membership in the Grand Unified Micronational. The Empire was allowed to enter its Autonomous Member States (consisting then of Wuerdigeland, Burnham and Nolland) as individual nations under the GUM’s then-Chairman, Jonathan Augustus, also Emperor Jonathan I of Austenasia. Since then, under the Chairmanship of Justinian I (under his non-regnal name of Richard Cunningham), the number of Provisional Member States (nations whose voting rights depended on the Chair’s decision at the beginning of his term) allowed within the GUM was increased from five to ten, and under the Chairmanship of Quantin I of the Kingdom of Wyvern, all membership limits were removed.

However, under the Chairmanship of Ciprian I of Juclandia, who was admitted to the position of Chair on 13 December, the Wuertige Empire’s rights as individual nations under a single imperial figurehead (that of Arthur I of Wuerdigeland) have been threatened. On the grounds of inactivity, Chairman Ciprian has declared the intent to reduce the Wuertige Empire’s number of memberships from three (Wuerdigeland, Burnham and Nolland) to one, citing inactivity. It must be noted that other nations who have been far more inactive that any of the Autonomous Member States of the Empire have only had their memberships reduced from Full Membership to Provisional Membership, and none of those contacted have been threatened with loss of membership altogether. Also, there is no reason to remove the Wuertige States on the grounds of keeping membership low, as the Quentinian term of September-December 2013 removed numerical restriction of membership.

The Empire has yet to reach a formal decision on acting upon this declaration, although there will be an official stance prepared in time for the next Quorum of the Grand Unified Micronational, set to occur on 5 January at 20:00 GMT.
