<p><span>If students are looking for a scholarship for the 2019 – 2020 school year for either the fall or spring semesters, the BCCEA is offering a $500 scholarship for students who are pursuing a degree at the post – secondary or preK-12 levels. </span><span>The BCCEA stands for the Butler Community College Education Association. </span><span> </span></p>
<p><span>In order to qualify for this scholarship, students need to have a 3.0 or above GPA and have completed 12 </span><span>credit hours. </span><span>Students will also need to describe in</span><span> a 500-word essay</span><span> what their plans, and goals are for pursing a degree in education. After students have met these requirements, they will need to turn in their </span><span>application</span><span> and their essay to the Butler Foundation. The deadline to </span><span>submit the scholarship application</span><span> and essay is </span><span>Thursday, August 1. </span><span> </span></p>
<p><span>This scholarship is funded</span><span> by e</span><span>mployees at Butler including </span><span>faculty, staff, councilors and voluntary contributions. </span><span> </span></p>
<p><span>One of the organizers of this scholarship is excited for employees to be able to show their excitement for students wanting</span><span> to pursue a degree in education. </span><span> </span></p>
<p><span>“</span><span>Employees are dedicated to the success of our students and those who</span><span> choose to enter our profession,” Terry </span><span>Sader, </span><span>professor of philosophy and ethics, said in a news release.</span><span> </span><span>“</span><span>The scholarship is just one more way to show that dedication and help where we can.</span><span>”</span><span> </span></p>
