I&#8217;m reminded of it because the prissy busibodies in Brussells are campaigning to make French, the dying tongue of an irrelevant country, the <a href="http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/02/07/europe/EU-GEN-EU-French.php"><em>de facto</em> legal standard</a> in the EU.</p>
