On February 11, 2012 the music industry and millions of fans lost one of the most iconic voices of all time, Whitney Houston. Her death was sudden and a shock to many and despite her popularized downward spiral her music is left to speak for itself. Over the course of her career she showcased her talent not just as a singer, but as a model and actress.

Her self-titled debut album was released on February 14, 1985 and held hits  ‘You Give Good Love,’ ‘Saving All My Love For You,’ and ‘How Will I Know.’ The album did not reach the top of the charts until a year later where it remained for 14 weeks. ‘Saving All My Love for You’ was her first Grammy win at the 28th Annual Award show for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female. Her National Anthem rendition at Super Bowl XXV (1991) took her career to another level and was so popular that it was re-released after the 9/11 attack.

Whitney Houston’s illustrious career will live on forever. Her music and other works awarded her 22 AMAs, 31 Billboard Music Awards, 2 Emmys, 7 Grammys, 19 NAACP Image Awards, 6 People’s Choice Awards, 8 Soul Train Awards, 6 World Music Awards, and more. Her awards total up to 600+. She has been certified by the RIAA 106 times and was inducted into the Guinness World Record Book twice for The Most Awarded/Popular Female Artist of All Time (2006) and Most Simultaneous Hits in the United Kingdom (2012).
