<p>You may be wondering what library &#8220;values&#8221; are and how a list of values is different from a vision statement or mission statement.  I really feel you need <a title="mission vision values" href="http://www.help4nonprofits.com/NP_Bd_MissionVisionValues_Art.htm" target="_blank">all three</a>.  Values are those underlying things you believe in.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s two good examples of values:</p>
<p><a href="https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/worthington1.jpg"><img data-attachment-id="6212" data-permalink="https://cherylbecker.wordpress.com/2014/12/12/library-values/worthington-2/" data-orig-file="https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/worthington1.jpg" data-orig-size="980,767" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;orientation&quot;:&quot;1&quot;}" data-image-title="worthington" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-medium-file="https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/worthington1.jpg?w=300" data-large-file="https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/worthington1.jpg?w=980" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-6212" src="https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/worthington1.jpg?w=1024&#038;h=802" alt="worthington" srcset="https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/worthington1.jpg 980w, https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/worthington1.jpg?w=150&amp;h=117 150w, https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/worthington1.jpg?w=300&amp;h=235 300w, https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/worthington1.jpg?w=768&amp;h=601 768w" sizes="(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px" /></a>(<a title="worthington" href="http://www.worthingtonlibraries.org/about/background/mission" target="_blank">Worthington Libraries</a>, Ohio)</p>

<p>The only thing I would suggest for both of these libraries is too make these values more visible and easy to find on their webpages.</p>
<p>What are your library values?</p>
