Today’s lesson is on humility. True, as a boss, a director, a leader, you have to be strong and not let others “push you around.” But that doesn’t mean that you can’t also be humble, which includes acknowledging your shortcomings, owning your mistakes, and learning from others.

I like the idea of treating humiliation as a wake-up call, or even a “gift,” if you will. The wise and talented Jesse Lyn Stoner says it so much better than I can in The Gift of Humiliation, in which she offers some good advice on harnessing humiliation and turning it into success.
