Others may be things that work in one library/community, but not in another. So you don&#8217;t always need to listen when someone tells you &#8220;you&#8217;re doing it wrong.&#8221; You may not be.<img loading="lazy" data-attachment-id="6174" data-permalink="https://cherylbecker.wordpress.com/2014/11/07/helping-employees-through-their-discomfort-levels/upset/" data-orig-file="https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/upset.png" data-orig-size="800,800" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;orientation&quot;:&quot;0&quot;}" data-image-title="upset" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-medium-file="https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/upset.png?w=300" data-large-file="https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/upset.png?w=800" class=" wp-image-6174 alignright" src="https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/upset.png?w=202&#038;h=202" alt="upset" width="202" height="202" srcset="https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/upset.png?w=202&amp;h=202 202w, https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/upset.png?w=404&amp;h=404 404w, https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/upset.png?w=150&amp;h=150 150w, https://cherylbecker.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/upset.png?w=300&amp;h=300 300w" sizes="(max-width: 202px) 100vw, 202px" /></p>

<p><a href="http://knowledgequest.aasl.org/confessions-librarian-everything-wrong/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Confessions of a Librarian Who Does Everything Wrong </a>looks at some of the things a school librarian has been questioned about—but she keeps doing them anyway, because she believes they&#8217;re right for her library and her students. In some cases, I think there may be ways to do them that aren&#8217;t problematic (like inventory), but in other cases, I say &#8220;you go, girl!&#8221; (I agree we should &#8220;never be the gatekeeper of literacy, but always the gate openers.&#8221;) If you have time, go give the article a read. I&#8217;ll be interested in your thoughts.</p>
