(Hint:  The answer is none.  None better way.)  We visited Materials for the Arts, a wonderful organization serving non-profits all over the 5 boroughs. <a href="www.mfta.org">www.mfta.org.</a></p>

<p>So we made like a school group and did a little mosaic arts and crafts project.  As you can see, it rocked.</p>
<p><a href="https://childrensmediaassociation.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/img_0391.jpg"><img loading="lazy" data-attachment-id="1480" data-permalink="https://childrensmediaassociation.wordpress.com/2013/07/05/materials-for-the-arts-and-for-melindas-too/img_0391/" data-orig-file="https://childrensmediaassociation.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/img_0391.jpg" data-orig-size="2448,3264" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{&quot;aperture&quot;:&quot;2.4&quot;,&quot;credit&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;camera&quot;:&quot;iPhone 4S&quot;,&quot;caption&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;created_timestamp&quot;:&quot;1369945568&quot;,&quot;copyright&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;focal_length&quot;:&quot;4.28&quot;,&quot;iso&quot;:&quot;100&quot;,&quot;shutter_speed&quot;:&quot;0.05&quot;,&quot;title&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;latitude&quot;:&quot;40.752166666667&quot;,&quot;longitude&quot;:&quot;-73.931166666667&quot;}" data-image-title="IMG_0391" data-image-description="" data-image-caption="" data-medium-file="https://childrensmediaassociation.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/img_0391.jpg?w=225" data-large-file="https://childrensmediaassociation.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/img_0391.jpg?w=768" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1480" alt="IMG_0391" src="https://childrensmediaassociation.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/img_0391.jpg?w=225&#038;h=300" width="225" height="300" srcset="https://childrensmediaassociation.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/img_0391.jpg?w=225&amp;h=300 225w, https://childrensmediaassociation.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/img_0391.jpg?w=450&amp;h=600 450w, https://childrensmediaassociation.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/img_0391.jpg?w=113&amp;h=150 113w" sizes="(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px" /></a></p>
<p>What I lack in photography skills I make up for in&#8230;something.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Main Takeaway:</span> Schools are so underfunded, it’s awesome that there’s a place that teachers can go to, not just for physical materials but for classes and workshops as well.  Those mosaics don’t just make themselves, you know.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Personal Takeaway</span>:  As a non-artsy and craftsy person I could’ve used more things like this when I was a kid.  Take your school group to Materials for the Arts.  You won’t regret it.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Inappropriate Takeaway:</span>  I did have to resist the urge to fake having a non-profit so I could shop there for stuff.  You know, for me. Don’t worry, the angel on my shoulder won this round and I did no such thing.  But I thought about it.  I thought about it a lot.</p>
