<p>Politifact <a href="http://www.politifact.com/new-jersey/statements/2012/may/31/paul-krugman/chris-christies-jersey-comeback-challenged-new-yor/">compares</a> statements made by Christie&#8217;s spokesman and the jobs stats, and finds the Princeton-based economist&#8217;s statements to be accurate.  Job growth is indeed lagging behind the national average.  In addition to the slow rate of growth, unemployment in NJ is at 9.1% (April, Bureau of Labor) while the national average is at 8.1%.</p>
