<p>President <a href="https://commonplacefacts.wordpress.com/tag/ronald-reagan/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ronald Reagan</a> liked to tell the story about the time he and Nancy visited a cemetery in <a href="https://commonplacefacts.wordpress.com/tag/ireland/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ireland</a>. They came across an old gravestone, on which was carved this inscription:</p>



<blockquote class="wp-block-quote has-text-align-center"><p><em>Remember me as you pass by,<br />For as you are, so once was I.<br />And as I am you too will will be.<br />So be content to follow me.</em></p></blockquote>



<p>The President said, &#8220;This had proven to be just a little too much for some Irishman, who scratched in the stone underneath, &#8216;To follow you I am content. I wish I knew which way you went.'&#8221;</p>
