<p>Albert Einstein married to Mileva Marić in 1903. The marriage ended in divorce 16 years later. Under the terms of the divorce agreement, Einstein agreed to give the money from his Nobel Prize to his ex-wife.</p>
<p>He must have been pretty sure of himself, and Mileva must have shared in this assessment. It would still be another two years before he would be awarded the Nobel Prize for his work on the photoelectric effect.</p>
