I ain’t got much solid info on new Crash beyond what is publicly leaked by much more well-connected people but I am pretty sure that someone heard “the new game has masks and a Cortex focus, kinda like if certain aspects of WoC were reimagined” and turned it into “WOC REMAKE!!”.
And while I’m addressing that eh-tier rumor, before you go nuts on what a “PvP Crash Game” could be, remember that PvP just means literally “player vs player”.

It just seems weird that we hear reliable rumors about a new game, that seems to use mechanics and story beats that could easily be conveyed as similar to WoC, and then hear about a WoC “remaster”.
Remember that Activision mentioned “reimaginings” in their earnings call?
What if a project began life as “Remaster WoC” and turned into “Ratchet and Clank 2016ing the good ideas from WoC”? You’d likely still have people walking around Activision calling it the WoC remaster even though it’s likely to have new mechanics, levels, story, etc. ~Tweet #3
