I really wish I had gotten into One Piece as a kid. I was put off by it’s bizarre art style and awkward dub. I thought it was going to be a passing fad like Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. Now it’s still going strong and no one remembers Bo-bobo. Unfortunately, there are now so many episodes that it’s hard to justify that commitment even for such an iconic and beloved show. And my experience of the show will be vastly different from someone who had watched it week by week with time to theorize and discuss between episodes. I feel like I’ve missed out even though I could just watch it now. It wouldn’t be the same.
