I love the chase as a mechanic for storytelling. Pepe’s intentions are very clear so it’s easy to understand his goals, whether he achieves them or not. It’s a common element with a lot of classic Looney Tunes cartoons, Wile E Coyote and Roadrunner and Elmer Fudd and Buggs Bunny. They all have clear chase/escape mechanics that you can easily slot humor around for infinite variety. Looney Tunes didn’t become the giant it is today through complex and deep characters. They’re still around because they gave us quality character interactions that stood the test of time.
