MLP recycles a lot of ideas from older toy lines. Gen 3 Winter Minty has both the decorated hooves of Rainbow Power and the eye tattoo from Rainbow Rocks. There’s a line of old ponies with forehead and snout tattoos that I’m certain will reappear once the sea ponies are done. I suppose they kind of showed up in the Queen Chrysalis alternate reality.
