My introduction to Knuckles was back on the Genesis when he was a salty and cunning rival character. It’s strange to me to see him change so much over the years to being just generic dumb muscle. He’s pretty much lost his smug antagonism, probably because his early personality overlapped too much with other newer characters. I think it would have been better to keep his attitude, but add some sarcasm or mean spirited playfulness so that you never know if he’s really joking or not. I guess it’s not all bad that Knuckles has become friendlier towards Sonic. They have been hanging out together for a long time.
