I don’t know why I watched Veggietales as a kid. My family wasn’t super religious. We went to church more often than the Easter/Christmas crowd, but beyond that, religion wasn’t a day to day presence in my life. Still, we had a bunch of Veggietales VHS tapes that we would play on long car rides. We had a tiny CRT that sat between the driver’s and passenger’s seats so that whoever was shotgun had to also run the VCR. My favorite was the one about the chocolate bunny factory. “I don’t know who he is, but he’s really shiny!”
