The Joker is the perfect villain for Batman. I’m sure that in any other story, the joker would probably be just a one off character. There is no shortage of crazy clowns out there, but The Joker endures in his story because he is such a perfect foil to the protagonist. I love how every incarnation of The Joker has the ability to bring out the worst of their respective Batmans (Batmen?).
