So there’s a new live action Aladdin coming up and I’m feeling really hesitant about it. The animated Aladdin was heavily reliant on physical humor, visual gags, and huge fantastical scenes. These are all things that are easier to pull off with animation. I’m worried that some of the vibrant charm of the movie will be lost. Of all things, I think the remake would benefit from more horror elements both to differentiate itself from the original and to capitalize on the strengths of live action as a medium.
