Shimmer and Shine is actually a really good preschool show that distinguishes itself by how the main characters treat the show’s villain, Zeta the Sorceress, and how compassionate and accepting they are of her. Too often, stories for kids are simplified into good versus evil, something that teaches black and white thinking. Shimmer and Shine takes a more nuanced approach to problems, showing multiple solutions, not just beating up the bad guy.
