Lindemans Apple Lambic Beer

Lindemans is an independent family brewery that opened in 1822.  It was founded by Frans Lindemans in Vlezenbeek.

They are part of the Belgian Family Brewer, which is a non-profit organization whose objective it to promote historic brewing methods. 20 Brewers are a part of the group.  A beer with this label means that it was brewed in Belgium by a recognized site, from an independent brewery that has been operational for 50 years, and is an original beer.

This beer has won a World Beer Award, and an Australian International Beer Award.

This beer comes in at 3.5% AC. It is very light.

It looked more like cider than beer, in my opinion. There is a very heavy apple smell, which is delicious. It smelled like I was holding a real apple.

Taste wise was a surprise for me. I was expecting a more tart or sour flavor, and got a very sweet apple flavor.  I personally liked that, since most apple products go in the granny smith direction. This is different and I like it.

There isn’t any bitterness, or “beer” taste, which ca be good. If you are just getting into beer, I think this might be a good starting point.  However this could also be bad, because, in all honesty it doesn’t taste like beer.  It tastes like cider.

Overall it was very good and I would buy it again.  I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars.
