About 200 residents of the Hof HaCarmel region protested outside the Fifth Jerusalem Environment and Nature Conference on Sunday, angry at the idea of establishing a natural gas transmission site in their region. Eventually, a group of the residents burst inside the actual conference itself, running to the front of the room with a banner following the speech of Environmental Protection Minister Gilad Erdan.

“Everybody cares about nature but not about us,” one of the members yelled. The group then left the conference immediately, with Society for the Protection of Nature (SPNI) officials apologizing to the minister for the interruption.
