<p>Goalkeeper Jahmali Waite repelled three penalty kicks in an overtime shootout Friday to boost FDU men’s soccer into the Northeast Conference tournament finals.</p>
<p>The fourth-seeded Knights advanced past No. 1 seeded St. Francis University, 3-1, on kicks after a scoreless regulation in one semifinal pairing at Loreto, Pa., the site of the championship at 1 p.m. Sunday.</p>
<p>No. 2 seed Long Island University advanced with a 4-0 win over No. 3 Bryant.</p>
<p>“I knew that if our team is going to win this game, it’s got to be up to me,” Waite said after the match in a FDU-tweeted video. The two-time all-NEC junior from Philadelphia saved three of four penalty kicks in the shootout and finished with 7 for the match. Diego ArrIbas, Daniel Lasarte and Ideal Shefqeti scored penalty-kick goals for FDU, which improved to 7-8-3 and will shoot for its eighth conference title.</p>
