FDU dropped its second consecutive game after a 62-51 loss to the Merrimack Warriors on Monday night.

FDU falls to 7-12 with a 4-4 record in the NEC, while Merrimack improves to 12-7 with a 5-3 record in the NEC.

Freshman forward Sierra DeAngelo led the way for the Knights with a career-high 15 points.

The Knights shot 23-59 (39%) from the field, 2-9 (22.2%) from three, and 3-4 (75%) from the free throw line.

The Warriors had 4 players in double digits as senior forward Denia Davis-Stewart led the way with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman guard Jayme Decesare had 11 points. Sophomore guard Kate Mager and freshman guard Kaylee Thomas both added 10 points. 

The Warriors shot 25-54 (46.3%) from the field, 6-18 (33.3%) from three, and 6-9 (66.7) from the free throw line.

The Knights in the midst of a tough part of the season as they are midway through NEC play and have more work to do if they want to keep their hopes alive to make the conference tournament.

The Knights look much better than last year with the freshman coming up big in spots as injuries keep on coming for the women’s team. Freshman guard Jayde Boyd got her first start on Monday and DeAngelo had a career night.

The Knights will host Mount Saint Mary’s on Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. The Warriors will host LIU on Feb. 1 at 1 p.m.
