Elizabeth Scalzo

Editor-in-Chief

The Equinox created our roundtable series to focus on what steps happen next for FDU to re-open this fall. However, the unrest within our community since the death of George Floyd merits a special edition of the series for the Black Lives Matter Movement.

With special guests Maame Mensah and Hannah Farrow — leaders on campus in the Student Government Association and the Black Student Union, respectively. This special edition offers a platform to educate about the injustices in our country and gives us the chance to have an open conversation about the FDU community and what needs to be done for the future. The segment also includes Staff writer Camille Herbert, News Editor Jhoana Merino-Martinez, Managing Editor Amaya Morales and myself.

The segment includes a history of the Black Lives Matter movement along with information on combating racism, especially on social-media platforms.

Tune in Friday, June 12, at 1 p.m. on our YouTube channel to watch this special edition and to educate yourself or someone else on what is happening in the U.S. Our regularly scheduled roundtables will continue next week, reporting on the re-opening of FDU.
