The university this week revealed its framework to reopen for the fall, but students (and parents) are still waiting for news on tuition and finances.

In an email sent Tuesday, July 7, President Christopher Capuano reiterated that the university is focused on helping students by freezing the undergraduate tuition rate for the 2020-21 academic year, meaning tuition will remain the same. The university also has “simplified and reduced the costs of many of its graduate programs effective this coming fall,” the statement said.

Luke Schultheis, FDU vice president for enrollment, planning and effectiveness, told The Equinox via email that there will not be a tuition increase or reduction. 

“FDU is making preparations and planning to have high quality educational programs and strong student support services and experiences planned should we not be able to return [in person],” Schultheis said.

The cost for housing and meal plans is yet to be determined for the fall 2020 semester. 

“There is a task force and consultant working on how room and board will look. Then, pricing will be determined,” Schultheis said.

Students will be able to view more information regarding their financial aid packages once room and board and other fees are decided, he said.

If a student is in the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) or any other programs, all students will receive help, he added.
