The weeklong virtual Meet the Greeks event finished Thursday, Oct. 1, introducing four more organizations: Alpha Phi Alpha, Lambda Pi Upsilon, Alpha Sigma Tau and Omega Phi Chi.

Jonathan Aboky-Djanty, the only active member of Alpha Phi Alpha’s Omicron Zeta chapter, started the night off by introducing alumni and brothers from other campuses, detailing the history of the organization. The presentation included a slideshow and two videos, which described Omicron Zeta as an “African American-based brotherhood.”

The Relentless Rho Chapter of the Lambda Pi Upsilon Sorority followed with Carisma Mercado, the president, vice president, secretary and treasurer of the organization, introducing the organization’s e-board. Their presentation also included a slideshow and a video.

Gabby Sesin, president of the Alpha Sigma Tau, Epsilon Theta chapter, followed with formal introductions, a slideshow, a video, and a short contest for those in attendance. The activity included guessing a hidden keyword.

The last organization to go was Omega Phi Chi Multicultural Sorority, Omnificent Omicron chapter, Incorporated, with president Lisa-Monet Jefferson sharing a slideshow presentation and a video. Alumna and sisters from other campuses also joined the event to lend their support.

After formal introductions, Rashard Mills, director of Student Life, highlighted the importance of feeling connected and having unity and support from peers on campus.

“Go Greek,” Mills said, capping off the event before playing music.

While Thursday was the last night of events to introduce the Greeks, the weeklong series concluded Friday with a special event titled “Empowerment and Beyond,” with special host, Paulaska Ramirez, an FDU Alumni and former Greek.
