Headlines are flashing everywhere this morning, so I hope you had your morning coffee! 

Last night, the Electoral College recounted and called the Presidential race for Joe Biden, CNN reports. 

The secured win for the democratic nominee comes at a time when the nation is more partisan than ever, according to CNN. Especially after President Donald Trump made persistent efforts to overturn Biden’s victory, NPR recalls. 

“In America, politicians don’t take power. People grant the power to them,” Biden said in his victory speech after the confirmation. 

A new development in the war against COVID-19 happened yesterday as well, an ICU nurse in New York is among the first to receive the vaccine as the Pfizer and Moderna vials begin to roll out, according to CNN.

Recorded live, this moment represented a glimmer of hope within the bleak outlook of the pandemic. We are witnessing a second wave; New Jersey saw an increase of 4,798 cases yesterday, according to The New York Times, with a 396 case increase in Bergen County alone, as stated on the Bergen County official website.  

The vaccines will take time to produce and distribute, considering two shots have to be administered 21 days apart. Yet, Pfizer and Moderna confirmed that at least 40 million doses will be made available by the end of this year, and promised more to come for 2021, according to The New York Times. 

The New York Times is also providing a guide, to estimate the amount of doses that may be available in each respective state during this time. 

All of this while winter storm advisories have been sent out overnight to warn about the snowstorm that will “whallop” a good chunk of the state of New Jersey on Wednesday, according to NJ.com. 

In fact, a day before it hits, it is becoming clear that North Jersey may see up to 12 or 18 inches of snow– conditions that may challenge the blizzard of 2016, NJ.com states .
