Today’s daily news will focus on the institution of six vaccine ‘mega-sites’ in New Jersey and the two FDU basketball games.

Let’s jump right in. 

COVID-19 cases remain stagnant in New Jersey after a spike two weeks ago. There were 393 reported cases in Bergen County, while New Jersey reported 3,896 cases yesterday, bringing the total to 425,000, according to Google statistics.

New Jersey plans to open six “coronavirus vaccination mega sites” across the state in early January, NJ.com reported.

The state also wants to set up more than 200 satellite vaccination centers, including hospitals and chain pharmacies, according to Gov. Phil Murphy’s news briefing on Dec. 18.

The goal is to immunize in phases and to vaccinate at least 70 percent of adult residents in New Jersey by June, next year, according to Patch.com.

In other news, both the women’s and men’s basketball teams will be playing today. The men’s game will be at home at 2 p.m. against Drexel and the women’s game away at 4 p.m. against Central Connecticut.
