<p>FDU holds on for the win, 69-65, over non-conference Fairfield on the road this afternoon. The Knights improve to 2-6 on the season and will go on break until Jan. 3, 2021 against non-conference Manhattan College at 2 p.m..</p>



<p>Against Fairfield, Rush had a career-high 28 points with seven three-pointers as Jenkins added 13 points. Square Jr. had nine points and six rebounds as Williams added seven points and seven rebounds.</p>



<p>Wojcik led the Stags with 12 as Benning and Leach scored 11  each while Green added eight. Fairfield falls to 1-8 on the season with a 1-3 record in the MAAC.</p>



<p>FDU shot 26-54 (48%) from the field, 10-17 (59%) from three, and 7-16 (44%) from the free throw-line.</p>



<p>Fairfield shot 24-60 (40%) from the field, 6-23 (26%) from three, and 11-16 (69%) from the free-throw line.</p>

<p>This was a much-needed win for an FDU, which played without Munden Jr., Racine, and Baker, who were suspended for breaking university protocols, according to game announcers on the broadcast.</p>



<p><strong>4:58 p.m. </strong></p>



<p>Jenkins makes both free throws to extend the FDU lead to 68-65 with 20.9 seconds remaining in the game. </p>



<p><strong>4:56 p.m.</strong></p>



<p>Close game with 33 seconds remaining as Daniel Rodriguez misses a free throw as Green drives and makes a layup to cut the Stags lead to 66-65 with 23.6 seconds remaining in the game.</p>



<p><strong>4:45 p.m. </strong></p>



<p>Williams lays it up and in to extend the FDU lead to 64-57 with three minutes remaining in the game.</p>



<p><strong>4:41 p.m.</strong> </p>



<p>Fairfield closes the gap and are within five, 60-55 with less than five minutes remaining in the game.</p>



<p><strong>4:33 p.m.</strong></p>



<p>FDU have a steady lead as they are up 56-48 with nine minutes remaining in the game.</p>



<p><strong>4:15 p.m.</strong> </p>



<p>Square Jr. puts it back up and in and draws the foul, but cannot convert the three-point play as FDU has a 45-38 lead with 16:21 remaining in the game.</p>



<p><strong>4:08 p.m.</strong></p>



<p>Rush makes his seventh three-pointer of the game as FDU extend their lead to 39-35 with 19:24 remaining in the game.</p>



<p><strong>3:59 p.m. </strong></p>



<p>At halftime FDU leads 36-33 going into the second half.</p>



<p>Rush leads the Knights with 18 points with his six three-pointers in the first half as Jenkins has six.</p>



<p>Wojcik leads the Stags with 12 points with freshman guard Jalen Leach having eight points off the bench and Benning adding six.&nbsp;</p>



<p>FDU shot 13-28 (46%) from the field, 8-10 (80%) from three and 2-8 (25%) from the free-throw line.</p>



<p>Fairfield shot 11-30 (37%) from the field, 4-15 (27%) from three and 7-10 (70%) from the free-throw line.</p>



<p>FDU must defend Fairfield from the three and has to limit turnovers in the second half to keep the lead in its favor.</p>

<p>Jenkins drives to the basket and draws the foul and lays it in for the three-point play as he makes the free throw to give FDU a 36-33 lead with 1 minute remaining in the half.</p>



<p><strong>3:45 p.m.</strong></p>



<p>Benning drives and lays it in and draws the foul and gives the Stags the lead 33-31 as he hits the free throw to convert the three-point play.</p>



<p><strong>3:40 p.m.</strong></p>



<p>Jenkins makes a three to extend the FDU lead to 31-26 with 4:11 remaining in the half. </p>



<p><strong>3:32 p.m.</strong></p>



<p>Rush cannot be stopped as he makes his fifth three of the half to give FDU a 25-22 lead with 7:47 remaining in the half. Rush makes his sixth three of the half and is on fire to give FDU a 28-24 lead with 7:04 remaining in the half. Rush has 18 so far.</p>



<p><strong>3:29 p.m.</strong></p>



<p>Rush is on fire and drills his fourth three of the game to tie it back at 22 for FDU with 8:53 remaining in the half.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Marc Dadika lays it up and in to tie the game at 16 for FDU with 11:34 remaining in the half.</p>



<p><strong>3:20 p.m.</strong></p>



<p>Rush makes his third three of the game to give FDU the lead back 14-13 with 12:48 remaining in the half.</p>



<p><strong>3:19 p.m.</strong></p>



<p>Wojcik nails the jumper to give the Stags a 13-11 lead with 13:35 remaining in the half.</p>

<p>Benning makes the corner three and gives the Stags the lead 9-8 with 15:58 remaining in the half.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Rush drills the three and extends the Knights&#8217; run to 8-0 and the lead is now 8-3 for the Knights with 17:09 remaining in the half. </p>



<p><strong>3:10 p.m.</strong></p>



<p>Powell steals the ball and gives the Knights the lead, 5-3 with 18:01 remaining in the half.</p>

<p>It has just been announced that freshman guard Joe Munden Jr., freshman forward Pier Olivier-Racine and sophomore guard Callum Baker are suspended for this game. Shocking news for this Knights team as their depth is being tested.</p>

<p>FDU will be taking on Fairfield University in their final game of 2020 at Fairfield, Conn., looking to close out the year with a win.&nbsp;</p>



<p>FDU is off to a 1-6 start with a 1-1 record in the NEC to start off the season. Preseason All-NEC forward Elyjah WIlliams leads the Knights with 15.5 PPG with fellow preseason All-NEC guard Jahlil Jenkins averaging 15 PPG. Sophomore guard Brandon Rush should be back from his one-game suspension and is currently the third-best scorer on the team averaging 13.8 PPG. Freshman and two-time NEC Rookie-of-the-week Joe Munden Jr. is averaging 8.3 PPG for the Knights as well.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Fairfield is currently 1-7 on the season with a 1-3 record in the MAAC. Taj Benning is their leading scorer with 12.4 PPG with Jake Wojcik averaging 9.5 PPG and Caleb Green averaging 9.3 PPG as well.</p>
