Brian Sicknick, the New Jersey native Capitol Policeman who was killed last month during the Jan. 6 insurrection and breaching of the Capitol, is lying “in honor” in the Capitol today.

Sicknick was one of five people who were killed during the insurrection when a fire extinguisher was thrown at him, reports say. He became a police officer in 2008 and served on the first responders unit during the seige on Capitol Hill.

The Equinox previously covered the story about the native New Jersey police officer on Jan. 9.

Vaccine Updates

The Biden Administration announced that 6,500 pharmacies nationally will receive direct shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine next week. The shipments are scheduled to roll out Feb. 11 with pharmacies receiving over 1 million doses initially, CNN reports.

“Millions of Americans turn to their local pharmacies every day for their medicines, flu shots, and much more. And pharmacies are readily accessible in most communities, with most Americans living within five miles of a pharmacy,” White House COVID-19 response coordinator Jeff Zients said in a briefing.

The administration also plans to increase the weekly allocation of all vaccines going to the states by 5%, which would bring the total of vaccines purchased per week to a minimum of 10.5 million, CNN added.

Zients said that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will fully reimburse states for the services they have provided since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in January 2020, at the news briefing.

The estimated price tag for the reimbursements will be between $3-5 billion dollars, CNN added.
