<p>Last week, Nvidia announced a new, powerful graphics card, <a target="_blank" href="http://ift.tt/1rCcDDh">the GTX 1080 built on the new Pascal architecture</a>.</p>

<p>Not surprisingly, over the weekend we started to see price drops hitting the GTX 980 TI card, the current not-insanely-priced front-runner for Nvidia&#8217;s available line of cards.</p>
<p>&#013;</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve dropped a comparison chart below so you can see how the GTX 970, GTX 980 TI, GTX Titan X and now the GTX 1080 compare. The 1080 isn&#8217;t due out for another few weeks, so we haven&#8217;t had a chance to dig into retail benchmarks. That means for now you&#8217;re going to have to either wait for the 1080 to come out on May 27 and tests to hit or take a slightly informed leap of faith.</p>

<p>What we do know is that the GTX 1080 is using the new Pascal architecture and is meant to deliver the power of the $1000 Titan X card for just $600 and and less power consumption.</p>
