Dangerous Golf, the destruction-based golf game from the former makers of the Burnout series, is now out on consoles and PC. If you’re planning to pick up the latter version, you may want to know it doesn’t offer support for keyboard-and-mouse controls.

That might seem like an odd omission, but it’s not without precedent for a PC game to require a controller. Still, it is an issue worth being aware of, and it’s a detail that was initially relegated to the system requirements area of the Steam page and could only be seen if you hit the Read More button for that section. A more prominent notice is now available toward the top of the page.

The absence of keyboard-and-mouse support has been brought up in a number of Steam reviews and on the game’s Steam forums, prompting a response from developer Three Field Entertainment.

“Dangerous Golf does not support mouse and keyboard play. Unfortunately there is no native Windows support for PlayStation 4 controllers,” a forum post reads. “Third-party tools do exist. We suggest you refer to the Steam forums for support as there are many discussions there about this issue. Hope that helps.”

A subsequent post adds, “We have had no issues to date with the 360 or Xbox One controllers. We don’t have any control over the PlayStation 4 controller–Windows doesn’t officially support it. Hence why we refer you to the Steam forums for advice on third-party tools that will get it to work. Best of luck.”

Another detail PC players will want to know is that there are various graphics settings; they just aren’t easy to find. Noting that some players haven’t been able to track them down, Three Fields points out in a forum post that these options can be found in the Clubhouse menu.
