Marvel Game’s vice president, Jay Ong, has discussed the future of Marvel Vs. Capcom, the crossover fighting game series that pits Capcom’s Street Fighters against Marvel’s superheroes.

In an interview with Polygon, Ong was asked whether Marvel has any plans to work with Capcom again, either for a new entry in the series or to release a new balance patch for Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.

“There’s nothing we can say at this time,” Ong replied. “Let’s just say that we hear that a lot. We love our fans and we certainly want to please them. Beyond that, we can’t say anything at this time. But who knows what the future holds?”

While Ong wasn’t willing to commit to the future of Marvel Vs. Capcom, he teased that the company is working on a number of other video game projects that will bring Marvel’s superheroes to consoles.

“[Marvel has] lots of things in the works, quite a few in the console space that are unannounced,” he added.

Currently, Marvel has confirmed it is teaming up with The Walking Dead developer Telltale Games for an episodic series. As of yet it has not been revealed what character or team is the focus of the series.

At E3 2016, during Sony’s press conference, a new Spider-Man game from Ratchet & Clank developer Insomnaic Games made its debut.

Although Capcom and Marvel have worked together repeatedly in the past, releasing numerous entries in the X-Men Vs. Street Fighter and Marvel Vs. Capcom series, the contract between them expired in March 2014. This means that a new partnership would have to be negotiated.
