We’ve known for some time there’s a new Professor Layton game in the works from Level-5, and a new filing with the European Union Intellectual Property Office is pointing to a new direction for the series.
In late June, a new Layton game was teased by Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino. Hino hinted the main character wouldn’t be Professor Layton this time, nor would it be Layton’s son Alfendi. A photo from Famitsu showed sketches of a female character, but no more hints were given at the time.
