<p>We&#8217;ve known for some time there&#8217;s a new Professor Layton game in the works from Level-5, and a new filing with the European Union Intellectual Property Office is pointing to a new direction for the series.

<p>In late June, a <a target="_blank" href="http://ift.tt/28XBdXT">new Layton game was teased</a> by Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino. Hino hinted the main character wouldn&#8217;t be Professor Layton this time, nor would it be Layton&#8217;s son Alfendi. A photo from Famitsu showed sketches of a female character, but no more hints were given at the time.
