The Walking Dead has often finished its season runs with a cliffhanger, but none as controversial as the one that closed season 6. We won’t know which of our heroes was beaten to death by the villainous Negan until the show returns in October, but in the meantime a short clip featuring Negan’s right-hand man, Dwight has been released. While this clip doesn’t give much away, fans might recognize the jacket that Dwight is wearing as belonging to crossbow-wielding fan favorite Daryl.

A teaser for the new season was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con last month. During the Walking Dead panel, star Andrew Lincoln confirmed that viewers would discover which character has been killed during the premiere episode. "It’s a really s**tty start to the season [for the characters]," he said, as reported by Variety.

The Walking Dead season 7 premieres on AMC on October 23.
