The upcoming Season 3 of Telltale’s The Walking Dead [Free] is shaping up to be great fun for those who also enjoy The Walking Dead comics. According to Job Stauffer, head of Creative Communications, Season 3 will take place much closer to Virginia, so we can expect to be seeing some very well-known characters from the comics play a bigger part in the Telltale’s version of The Walking Dead universe. He talked about how Telltale tried bringing in characters from the comics into its games with the Michonne miniseries earlier this year, so now they are ready to do so in a longer story arc like Season 3. He, of course, didn’t provide any hints as to who these characters will be, so it remains to be seen.

He also talked about Season 3’s themes of community-building after the apocalypse, with one of the major questions being what is America and what is the world now. As we’ve written a few weeks back, Season 3 will work both as a continuation of the previous two seasons as well as a new point of entry, so it should satisfy all the players. We still don’t have a release date, but we’ll keep you informed.
