<p>Work continues to bring celebrated racing game<a href="http://ift.tt/HgY3Kq"> Burnout Paradise</a> to <a href="http://ift.tt/1gvajmS">Xbox One</a> through backwards compatibility, developer Criterion Games has announced.</p>
<p>Asked on Twitter for a status update on the game&#8217;s backwards compatibility support, the Criterion Twitter channel <a rel="nofollow" href="https://twitter.com/CriterionGames/status/778512457425911808">said</a> (<a rel="nofollow" href="http://ift.tt/2clFxA5">via VideoGamer.com</a>), &quot;Patience, Paradise fans! This work is continuing and we hope to have more BC news soon.&quot;</p>

<p>It&#8217;s been <a href="http://ift.tt/1fgrkpT">more than a year since Criterion announced in July 2015</a> that it was working with Microsoft to bring Burnout Paradise to Xbox One, so fans understandly want some answers.</p>
<p>Interestingly, Xbox boss Phil Spencer teased this week that there are <a href="http://ift.tt/2ckOY2k">some games coming to the Xbox One backwards compatibility program soon that he is very excited about</a>. Whether or not one of these is Burnout Paradise remains to be seen. Also, <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8rCsxVT9oI">the word &quot;soon&quot; means different things to different people</a>.</p>
<p>In other news about the Burnout franchise and backwards compatibility, Criterion has <a href="http://ift.tt/1HcQq5K">confirmed that Burnout Revenge will not be added to the catalog</a>.</p>
<p>The newest <a href="http://ift.tt/18k9JSv">Xbox 360</a> game added to the program was <a href="http://ift.tt/2cmze3T">Word Puzzle, which arrived this week</a>. There are now more than 250 games in the catalog&#8211;<a href="http://ift.tt/1OzAESt">you can see them all here</a>.</p>
<p>Criterion&#8217;s extreme sports game has been <a href="http://ift.tt/28RjqRT">canceled</a>. The studio is currently <a href="http://ift.tt/28RjqRT">contributing to the Star Wars Battlefront VR game</a>.</p>
