<p>Playtonic Games has released a new trailer for <a href="http://ift.tt/1cMIp9U">Yooka-Laylee</a>, revealing it will feature a surprise cameo from <a href="http://ift.tt/MPIlIK">Shovel Knight</a>, the star of Yacht Club Games&#8217; acclaimed 2D side-scrolling platformer of the same name.</p>
<p>&quot;We&#8217;re super excited to announce the blue fellow with horns will be teaming up with the green bloke with no pants,&quot; <a rel="nofollow" href="http://ift.tt/2dvrhK6">said Yacht Club Games.</a> &quot;That’s right- Shovel Knight will be digging in to the highly anticipated 3D platforming collect-em-up,Yooka-Laylee! The blue borrower is quite the chameleon these days, showing up in so many cool games, he&#8217;ll surely fit right in.&quot;</p>
<p><p>In May, Playtonic said it was hoping to<a href="http://ift.tt/1NClJue"> release Yooka-Laylee in the October 2016 release window</a>, but noted it is &quot;committed to releasing games only when they&#8217;re polished, complete, and at the quality level you expect.&quot; A month later, on June 6, it pushed Yooka-Laylee&#8217;s launch into &quot;Q1 2017.&quot;</p>
<p>&quot;As soon as we&#8217;re confident we&#8217;ve ticked all of those boxes, we&#8217;ll inform our backers directly of when to mark their calendars,&quot; it said.</p>
<p>Yooka-Laylee was was crowdfunded on Kickstarter and<a href="http://ift.tt/1Tuyh6j"> raised over $3.2 million</a>. The game is set for release on <a href="http://ift.tt/1lXIW8W">PS4</a>, <a href="http://ift.tt/1gvajmS">Xbox One</a>, <a href="http://ift.tt/ZkBfj0">Wii U</a>, and <a href="http://ift.tt/1e8dJIN">PC</a>.
