Ahead of the launch of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim‘s Special Edition this Friday, October 28, Bethesda has now confirmed another launch detail.

In an FAQ, the developer clarified that the game’s mods content specifically will be limited to 1 GB of space on PS4 but 5 GB on Xbox One. This discrepancy continues on from Fallout 4, which offers 2 GB space on Xbox One and, when the feature launches, 900 MB of space on PS4.

As announced previously, Skyrim will not allow PS4 mods that use external assets, so 1 GB of space may indeed be enough. Also, you can delete mods and install new ones whenever you want if space is an issue. As Eurogamer explains, assets in Skyrim can be small, at times under 1 MB.

Following months of delays, Bethesda admitted that Sony was blocking it from providing mod support on PS4 for Fallout 4 and the Skyrim Special Edition. Fallout 4 mods have been available on PC and Xbox One for months now.

As for Fallout 4, it will be updated with mod and PS4 Pro support once "work is complete on Skyrim," Bethesda said earlier this month.

Skyrim’s Special Edition, which includes a number of visual enhancements, launches this Friday, October 28, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Read this post to find out precisely when the game will launch in your region.
